The GLC Coupe is a prime example, as it used to pack a turbo V6 in GLC 43 guise and a turbo V8 in the rarified GLC 63. Now they're all four-bangers, and strangely enough, the fuel economy hasn't even improved; in fact, the six-cylinder X4 M40i is more efficient by 2 mpg. The engineering wizardry behind this powertrain is obviously world-class, but if you're like us, you're probably wishing Mercedes would just bring back the V8-powered GLC 63 Coupe that was discontinued after the 2021 model year. That right there was a high-performance SUV with personality and attitude to spare, which is the whole point of this segment, really. It ain't cheap, but we doubt there are many Cayenne S Coupe owners who wish they'd settled for the base V6.
