Electric trucks truly beggar belief when you look at their specs. The acceleration, in particular, is just insane when you think about how rare truly fast trucks were before the EV revolution began. Much scrutiny has been given to how an electric truck's range tends to plummet when towing, and rightly so — in that regard, none of these trucks is a real substitute for a conventional model with a fuel tank. But if you're just looking for a lifestyle truck that's ridiculously powerful, an electric truck could be your best bet by far. We've rated and ranked all of today's models to get you started. It's early yet, but we must say that there are some pretty cool machines here already — unless, you know, you need to do long-distance towing or other tasks where conventional trucks still reign supreme.

The R1T's stats are so amazing that they're scarcely believable. Zero to 60 in as few as 2.5 seconds? Range up to 420 miles? Towing capacity of 11,000 pounds? Serious off-road capability? The electric Hummer truck basically goes all-in on overkill, and the results are awe-inspiring. So is the curb weight, not surprisingly — 9,640 pounds with the extended-range battery — which is a big reason why the range tops out at 381 miles with that battery and drops to 311 miles with the standard pack. You'll want the bigger battery, then, which also happens to unlock the maximum output of 1,000 horsepower, a nice round number. Zero to 60 mph takes 3.3 seconds in that configuration. The price makes it a luxury item more than a true workaday truck substitute, although the arrival of the base LT trim for 2025 makes it slightly more attainable, but the Silverado EV's capabilities will make you say "Wow" regardless. There aren't many vehicles that can make Rivian's range seem pedestrian, but this GMC is one of them. Tesla Cybertruck

As amazed as we are that Tesla's engineers managed to equip this triangle-on-wheels with impressive acceleration, handling and ride comfort, we'd be remiss not to point out that both the Rivian and the GM twins (Silverado EV and Sierra EV) offer far more range than the Cybertruck. That will change when Tesla starts shipping the Cybertruck's Range Extender battery pack, but you can't have it yet, so the range gap persists. Ford F-150 Lightning

Although the Lightning can't match the shock and awe of the Silverado EV RST's 750-horsepower output, the Ford is still crazy quick for a truck and capable of towing nearly 16,000 pounds. Range is where it falls down — GM and Rivian have simply run away from the pack with their 400-mile-plus capabilities, leaving the 320-mile Ford in their dust. At least the Lightning delivers on the cargo-bed front, mostly, providing a 67-inch example that's just a few inches shy of the GM twins and the Tesla.
