FAST FACTS
2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV
Rank
- #3 in Electric Trucks
Pros
- Amazing range for such a large and heavy vehicle
- Righteous acceleration, especially if you get the RST Max Range
- Nicely trimmed interior with up-to-date technology
- Lower-priced LT trim makes this incredible machine at least somewhat more attainable
Cons
- Pricing is still awfully high for mainstream America
What's New for 2025?
The Silverado EV welcomes a new base LT Extended Range trim that provides a somewhat more wallet-friendly alternative to the full-bore RST Max Range. Despite its smaller battery, the LT Extended Range is still an incredible machine that can return around 400 miles of range. Note that the "WT" (Work Truck) variant is not part of the consumer lineup, hence its exclusion from our data. You can learn more about the Silverado EV WT at Chevy's Commercial portal.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV a Good Truck?
"Boasting huge power but even more impressive range — we're talking up to 460 miles — the Silverado EV is a pretty compelling one-vehicle solution when you think about it. Consider that it also has a truly useful six-foot bed and a cosseting cabin with tech features galore. The price makes it a luxury item more than a true workaday truck substitute, although the arrival of the base LT trim for 2025 makes it slightly more attainable, but the Silverado EV's capabilities will make you say 'Wow' regardless."—Ranked #3 out of 6 Electric Trucks
Which 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Extended Range
- Base Price: $73,100
- Range: 408 mi
- Battery Capacity: 170.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 300 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 645
- Torque: 765 lb-ft
- Length: 233.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 12,500 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,800 lbs
The entry-level Silverado EV Extended Range — meaning the smaller of the two battery packs — is the LT trim. You can step up to the RST trim with the same battery, but you'll be capped at the same power and torque numbers as the LT due to the battery's limitations. Of course, 600-plus hp will get the job done for most drivers, but just know that the RST Max Range is the only Silverado EV version that unlocks the full potential of the dual motors. Also notable is the LT's optional 19.2-kW onboard charger, which comes bundled with a number of other features, including 22-inch wheels that drive the range down to 390 miles. That's not a huge penalty coming from 408 miles, but it's good to be aware that faster home charging (which is especially useful with an enormous battery like this one) comes with a range reduction in the LT's case. As for the RST Extended Range, it comes standard with the 19.2-kW charger and provides 390 miles of range.
2. 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Max Range
- Base Price: $95,800
- Range: 460 mi
- Battery Capacity: 205.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 350 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 754
- Torque: 785 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.4 sec
- Length: 233.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 10,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,400 lbs
The RST Max Range pulls out all the stops with its 754-horsepower output and mid-4-second dash to 60 mph, yet it also has by far the most range in the Silverado EV lineup thanks to its even larger battery. This is an awesome combination of force and range, and it had better be for nearly $100k to start. Note that the RST Max Range comes standard with the 19.2-kW onboard charger to optimize home charging speeds, and its battery pack is capable of 350-kW DC fast charging, a 50-kW improvement versus the Extended Range battery.
