Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC Plug-In Hybrid a Good SUV?
"Watch out, because Mercedes is trying to change the game with the GLC 350e PHEV. Boasting a 17-mile advantage in EV range over the Lexus NX 450h+ — or put differently, nearly 50 percent more electric range — the GLC 350e further boasts a conventional nine-speed automatic transmission that won't surge or drone like the CVT in the Lexus. The Benz also undercuts the NX 450h+ on price, which is surely no accident, but the Lexus does retain a huge advantage in fuel economy. The race for the best plug-in-hybrid SUV might start and stop right here."—Ranked #1 out of 5 Compact Luxury PHEV SUVs
Which 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC Plug-In Hybrid Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. There's only one standalone version of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC Plug-In Hybrid, and here it is, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.

The GLC 350e's 54-mile electric range is the headline news here, and rightfully so. That's far more than the plug-in-hybrid norm, and although the electric motor's 134-horsepower rating looks wimpy next to the GLC 350e's 2.5-ton curb weight, its 325 pound-feet of torque should give you enough oomph for most around-town situations. It's hard to avoid the conclusion that the 350e is one of the best all-around plug-in hybrid SUVs on the market, right out of the gate. There's technically another GLC PHEV, by the way, but that would be the 671-hp AMG GLC 63 S E Performance, which promises well less than 10 miles of electric range. We're assuming that most people who are intrigued by the idea of a plug-in GLC will not be interested in that contraption.
