What's New for 2025?
The big news is the debut of not one, but two plug-in-hybrid GLC variants: the regular-strength GLC 350e, which provides a very handy 54 miles of all-electric range alongside 313 combined horsepower, and the completely mental AMG GLC 63 S E Performance, which gives you less than 10 miles of EV range but compensates with 671 hp. Both models utilize a four-cylinder gas engine, which means the V8-powered GLC 63 is sadly a thing of the past. Beyond these notable introductions, all 2025 GLC models receive updated third-generation MBUX infotainment software, a digital vehicle key and a center airbag between the front seats.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC a Good SUV?
"You could be forgiven for thinking the current GLC has been on the market forever, but it was actually redesigned for '23, even though it closely resembles the generation that came before. This is one of the newer models in the segment, then, and it delivers the cutting-edge tech features you'd expect, including a high-resolution central touchscreen that's canted toward the driver — a nice ergonomic touch. Although there are many mechanical variants of the GLC (including the new plug-in-hybrid GLC 350e), we prefer the standard GLC 300, as its turbo four-cylinder engine provides a nice blend of efficiency and performance. All of the pricier GLCs now have just four cylinders as well, so stretching for an AMG variant isn't as appealing as it used to be when exclusive V6s and V8s set those models apart."—Ranked #2 out of 16 Compact Luxury SUVs
Which 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC Should I Buy?

1. 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 (2.0T Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $47,450
- MPG Combined: 29
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 255
- Torque: 295 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.2 sec
- Weight: 4,167 lbs
- Length: 185.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs
Unlike the cheaper GLA and GLB, which are based on a front-wheel-drive platform, the GLC uses a rear-drive platform that marks it as a more premium product. In the entry-level GLC 300's case, it's actually a rear-wheel-drive vehicle — Benz's 4MATIC AWD system will cost you extra.
2. 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC (2.0T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $49,450
- MPG Combined: 27
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 255
- Torque: 295 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.2 sec
- Weight: 4,277 lbs
- Length: 185.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs
All-wheel drive does take a bite out of the GLC 300's fuel economy, but the cost is reasonable and the acceleration remains the same, so it's a pretty good deal if AWD makes sense for your climate.
3. 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4MATIC (2.0T Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $59,900
- MPG Combined: 25
- EV Range: 54 mi
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 313
- Torque: 406 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.2 sec
- Weight: 5,108 lbs
- Length: 185.7 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
The GLC 350e's 54-mile electric range is the headline news here, and rightfully so. That's far more than the plug-in-hybrid norm, and although the electric motor's 134-horsepower rating looks wimpy next to the GLC 350e's 2.5-ton curb weight, its 325 pound-feet of torque should give you enough oomph for most around-town situations. It's hard to avoid the conclusion that the 350e is one of the best all-around plug-in hybrid SUVs on the market, right out of the gate. There's technically another GLC PHEV, by the way, but that would be the 671-hp AMG GLC 63 S E Performance, which promises well less than 10 miles of electric range. We're assuming that most people who are intrigued by the idea of a plug-in GLC will not be interested in that contraption.
4. 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 43 (2.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $64,950
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 416
- Torque: 369 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.7 sec
- Weight: 4,553 lbs
- Length: 187.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs
The GLC 43 uses a highly complex turbocharged four-cylinder engine with hybrid assist to achieve its eye-popping output numbers. Candidly, we miss the days when the AMG variant of the GLC featured a twin-turbo V6 engine or even (in the GLC 63) a truly awesome twin-turbo V8. You might be thinking that the fuel economy must be better with the four-cylinder, at least, but you'd be mistaken. The previous-generation GLC 43 with its turbo V6 actually carried the same 21-mpg rating from the EPA as today's four-banger GLC 43. You can look it up.
5. 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC 63 S E Performance (2.0T Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $86,050
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: 6 mi (est.)
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 671
- Torque: 752 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.5 sec
- Length: 187.0 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
Sporting the same uber-complicated four-cylinder PHEV powertrain found in the AMG C63, the AMG GLC 63 naturally has more mass for that powertrain to move (though how much more, we don't yet know, because Mercedes isn't saying). That means you can expect all-electric range that's even farther away from double digits. We can't help but feel bummed out as we write this, because the previous AMG C63 was one of the coolest SUVs extant thanks to its awesome turbo V8 engine. No amount of extra horsepower can make up for the loss of those extra four cylinders. We would 100 percent be shopping for a lightly used AMG C63 V8 instead.
