The reinvented AMG GLC 63 — technically known as the AMG GLC 63 S E Performance — debuts as a plug-in hybrid with a four-cylinder gas engine (yep, four) and an electric motor that can power the vehicle for less than 10 miles by itself. Perhaps you share our level of enthusiasm for this concept. To be fair, there's 671 horsepower on tap.

Sporting the same uber-complicated four-cylinder PHEV powertrain found in the AMG C63, the AMG GLC 63 naturally has more mass for that powertrain to move (though how much more, we don't yet know, because Mercedes isn't saying). That means you can expect all-electric range that's even farther away from double digits. We can't help but feel bummed out as we write this, because the previous AMG C63 was one of the coolest SUVs extant thanks to its awesome turbo V8 engine. No amount of extra horsepower can make up for the loss of those extra four cylinders. We would 100 percent be shopping for a lightly used AMG C63 V8 instead.
