Which 2024 Volvo XC60 Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2024 Volvo XC60 that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2024 Volvo XC60 B5 (2.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $46,450
- MPG Combined: 25
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 247
- Torque: 258 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.5 sec
- Weight: 4,154 lbs
- Length: 185.4 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs
The XC40 B5 will be a "just right" SUV for many shoppers, as it's compact on the outside but roomy on the inside. Its fuel economy is unimpressive, however, and its acceleration isn't anything to write home about either.
2. 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 (Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $57,900
- MPG Combined: 28
- EV Range: 35 mi
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 455
- Torque: 523 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.5 sec
- Weight: 4,660 lbs
- Length: 185.4 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,500 lbs
The XC60 Recharge T8 PHEV costs a lot more than the regular XC60 B5, but it gives you a lot more, too. With 36 miles of electric range, the plug-in XC60 has enough juice to keep you away from the gas station for weeks, if not months — and in gas-electric hybrid mode, it returns a healthy 28 mpg in mixed driving. Remarkably swift acceleration is another feather in the XC60 PHEV's cap.
