What's New for 2025?
The 2025 S90 PHEV drops the "Recharge" from its name, but it continues to be essentially the same car it's been since 2018, when the original short-wheelbase model (built in Sweden) was discontinued and the long-wheelbase model (built in China — yes, the 2025 S90 is still made in China) became the only option.

The bad news is that the S90 is still fundamentally the same car that debuted forever ago in 2016, whereas its luxury-brand rivals have long since moved on to newer platforms and technologies. There's also the matter of the S90's needlessly stretched proportions, a function of its primary purpose as a chauffeur-driven car in China, which happens to be where Geely-owned Volvo builds it.
