Which 2025 Mini Cooper 4 Door Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2025 Mini Cooper 4 Door that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2025 Mini Cooper 4 Door
- Base Price: $29,950
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 7-speed automated manual
- Horsepower: 161
- Torque: 184 lb-ft
- 0-60: 7.7 sec
- Weight: 3,078 lbs
- Length: 158.9 in
The Cooper 4 Door's dimensions are pretty much the same despite the Cooper's redesign for 2025, so the differences come down to the revamped interior and of course what's under the hood. Gone is the old turbo three-cylinder that powered the base Cooper 4 Door for many years, supplanted here as elsewhere by a detuned version of the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder found in the Cooper S. As such, you can expect stronger acceleration in the base Cooper 4 Door now, as well as a harder decision as to whether to upgrade to the Cooper S 4 Door.
2. 2025 Mini Cooper S 4 Door
- Base Price: $33,200
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 7-speed automated manual
- Horsepower: 201
- Torque: 221 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.5 sec
- Weight: 3,089 lbs
- Length: 158.9 in
The Cooper S 4 Door gets you to 60 mph 1.2 seconds sooner, but as we've noted across the new Cooper lineup, the base model shares the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Is the S model's more aggressive tuning worth a few grand extra? If you love Mini's fun-to-drive ethos, then yes, probably, but don't expect a dramatically different personality here.
