The GLC 43 uses a highly complex turbocharged four-cylinder engine with hybrid assist to achieve its eye-popping output numbers. Candidly, we miss the days when the AMG variant of the GLC featured a twin-turbo V6 engine or even (in the GLC 63) a truly awesome twin-turbo V8. You might be thinking that the fuel economy must be better with the four-cylinder, at least, but you'd be mistaken. The previous-generation GLC 43 with its turbo V6 actually carried the same 21-mpg rating from the EPA as today's four-banger GLC 43. You can look it up.
