FAST FACTS
2025 Lexus LX
Rank
Pros
- Luxuriously appointed cabin
- Genuine off-road capability
- Smooth yet sturdy ride quality
Cons
- The far cheaper Lexus GX uses the same platform and turbo V6 powertrain as the LX 600
- The GX also has a more artfully integrated touchscreen on the dashboard
What's New for 2025?
The big news is the introduction of the LX 700h hybrid model, which adds electric motor assist to the LX 600's turbo V6 powertrain but delivers only incremental improvements in both fuel economy and acceleration. The LX Hybrid also exclusively offers an Overtrail off-road kit with front and rear locking differentials, among other enhancements. Note that the LX 600 is no longer available with only two seating rows — last year's base two-row trim has been discontinued, and so has the two-row LX 600 Ultra Luxury. If you want a two-row LX, your only options now are the LX 700h Overtrail (which lets you delete the third row for a $1,750 credit) or the LX 700h Ultra Luxury (the only Ultra Luxury version going forward). Oh, and if you're wondering what's up with the $13k price increase from 2024, that's because of the base two-row model's removal; the 2025 lineup starts with the Premium trim, which edges into six figures.

Is the 2025 Lexus LX a Good SUV?
"Lexus makes no bones about the LX's upscale intentions. Perhaps the clearest indication is the availability of an extravagant two-row version with a limousine-like backseat. This is the Japanese Range Rover, and although it lacks the actual Rover's exotic powertrain options, the promise of traditional Lexus reliability (notwithstanding those pesky recall issues with the 3.4-liter turbo V6) will no doubt win some buyers over. We can't argue with the LX's presence or substance, but we do feel compelled to point out that the Lexus GX 550 shares the same platform and powertrain while costing many thousands less. One feather in the LX's cap is the hybrid-powered 700h model, which adds an electric motor that's not offered on the GX — and by the way, if you do spring for the Ultra Luxury trim, it now comes only with the 700h powertrain as of 2025."—Ranked #3 out of 3 Midsize Ultra Luxury SUVs
Which 2025 Lexus LX Should I Buy?

1. 2025 Lexus LX 600 (3.4T 4WD)
- Base Price: $105,500
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.4-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 409
- Torque: 479 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.9 sec
- Weight: 5,665 lbs
- Length: 200.6 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,000 lbs
The LX 600 shares its 112.2-inch wheelbase with the GX 550, but the 600 is all about luxury, eschewing any serious off-road pretensions in favor of a cosseting on-road ride. Note that three-row seating with room for seven passengers is now standard on the 600; there was a base two-row LX 600 for the 2024 model year, but it has been discontinued.
2. 2025 Lexus LX 700h (3.4T Hybrid 4WD)
- Base Price: $114,000
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.4-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 457
- Torque: 583 lb-ft
- Length: 200.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,000 lbs
The hybrid-powered LX 700h uses the same turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 and 10-speed automatic transmission as the LX 600, but it also employs an electric motor that cranks up the output to 457 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the off-road-oriented Overtrail trim level, you can optionally delete the third-row seat for a credit of $1,750, but otherwise the LX 700h will be a three-row rig unless you spring for the four-seat Ultra Luxury model.
3. 2025 Lexus LX 700h Ultra Luxury (3.4T Hybrid 4-Seater)
- Base Price: $140,000
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.4-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 457
- Torque: 583 lb-ft
- Length: 200.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,000 lbs
The LX 700h Ultra Luxury ditches the third-row seat and substitutes two first-class captain's chairs in the second row, providing a total of four seats in the entire vehicle. Legroom is surprisingly scarce in the second row given that they had so much space to work with back there. Of course, if there's no one in the front passenger seat, you can power it forward and recline in the second row for the ultimate LX passenger experience. Note that last year's LX 600 Ultra Luxury model has been discontinued with the arrival of the top-of-the-line 700h hybrid powertrain for 2025.
