What's New for 2025?
The Range Rover is fundamentally unchanged this year, although you can now get the plug-in hybrid in a less luxurious configuration (it's all relative at this level, of course) for roughly $20k cheaper than last year, when the extra-fancy Autobiography trim was the PHEV's entry level.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover a Good SUV?
"You could argue that the Range Rover is a full-size SUV, but it does come in just shy of the 200-inch threshold, so we're comfortable calling it a midsizer. If you want a truly full-size Range Rover, check out the long-wheelbase version with its optional third row. Anyway, our primary recommendation here is to skip the base inline-6 engine and go straight to the BMW-sourced 4.4-liter turbo V8, which is one of our favorite motors on the market. Beyond that, you can't go wrong with any Range Rover build. It's a legend for good reason."—Ranked #1 out of 3 Midsize Ultra Luxury SUVs

1. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P400 (3.0T S/C Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $107,900
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 395
- Torque: 406 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.3 sec
- Weight: 5,240 lbs
- Length: 198.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,715 lbs
The Range Rover has the exact same wheelbase as the Range Rover Sport, which is indicative of the fact that the two models share a platform. Do you want to go bigger and softer? Leave the Sport alone and come right over here to the Range Rover side. Unlike the Sport, the "Range" comes standard with the spicier P400 version of the 3.0-liter inline-6. But then again, for about $25k more to start, it had better.
2. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P400 Long Wheelbase 3-Row (3.0T S/C Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $114,900
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 395
- Torque: 406 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.6 sec
- Weight: 5,600 lbs
- Length: 207.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,715 lbs
The long-wheelbase Range Rover does add eight whole inches between the wheels, and about the same in terms of overall length. Don't expect a roomy third-row seat, however; Land Rover doesn't even provide headroom or legroom measurements for that row. This rig is more for the buyer who's dead set on a Range Rover but would occasionally benefit from having a couple of seats in the cargo area. As with the regular Range Rover, we strongly recommend upgrading to the P530 V8 engine.
3. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P550e (3.0T S/C Plug-In Hybrid 4WD)
- Base Price: $119,900
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: 51 mi
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 543
- Torque: 590 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.8 sec
- Weight: 6,025 lbs
- Length: 198.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,613 lbs
The Range Rover plug-in hybrid is still something of an unknown commodity as of this writing, mainly because the EPA hasn't tested it yet. According to Land Rover, it'll give you 51 miles of electric range, which is remarkable for a three-ton behemoth if true. We'll certainly know more for 2025.
4. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P530 (4.4T Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $131,400
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 523
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.4 sec
- Weight: 5,530 lbs
- Length: 198.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 lbs
Is it really a Range Rover if it doesn't have a V8? We know times are changing when it comes to cylinder count, and we also know that the Range's 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 is built by BMW. But we don't care. Six cylinders just ain't enough — you want this V8 in your Range Rover.
5. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P530 Long Wheelbase 3-Row (4.4T Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $138,400
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 523
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.6 sec
- Weight: 6,025 lbs
- Length: 207.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 lbs
Selecting the excellent twin-turbo V8 is the best thing you can do for a long-wheelbase Range Rover. This three-ton beast is the perfect candidate for all that silky-smooth V8 power and torque. Note that you can also have this configuration with just two rows of seats if your priority is luxurous second-row legroom rather than the versatility of three-row seating.
6. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover P530 Long Wheelbase 2-Row (4.4T Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $170,900
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 523
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.5 sec
- Weight: 5,800 lbs
- Length: 207.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 lbs
If you want the P530 V8 engine with the long wheelbase and only two rows of seats, the Autobiography trim is your only option, hence the elevated price for this configuration. Why would you get a Range Rover LWB without the third seating row, you ask? One reason: Limo-like legroom for the two first-class seats in the second row.
7. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SV (P615 4.4T Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $209,000
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 607
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.3 sec
- Weight: 5,985 lbs
- Length: 198.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 lbs
A range-topping performance model like the SV will always rope in some buyers who reflexively want the shiniest thing. But if you take a step back, what's the argument for the SV, exactly? You can get virtually the same engine in P530 form for a jaw-dropping $80k less — a sum that might seem meaningful even to Range Rover buyers. It's literally the same BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, and although the SV tune results in more horsepower, Land Rover says the SV only gets to 60 mph a tenth of a second sooner.
8. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover SV Long Wheelbase 2-Row (P615 4.4T Four-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $234,000
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 606
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.4 sec
- Weight: 5,970 lbs
- Length: 207.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,200 lbs
As with the regular Range Rover, we advise sticking to the P530 V8 engine and skipping the exorbitantly priced (even by Range Rover standards!) SV version. The P530 delivers virtually the same acceleration via the same twin-turbo BMW V8 engine for tens of thousands less.
