What's New for 2025?
The G80 gets a very minor styling update on the outside (compare the lower grille designs from this year and last year) and a much more significant interior update, headlined by a new 27-inch OLED widescreen infotainment module. Unfortunately, the G80 also gets a significant price hike of almost $3k for the 2.5T four-cylinder version and more than $5k for the 3.5T V6, which takes a bite out of its value proposition.

Is the 2025 Genesis G80 a Good Car?
"Distinctively styled and convincingly upscale, the G80 is a strong statement of competitiveness from Genesis. We definitely recommend the confident 3.5T V6, though; the base four-cylinder is a little rough around the edges for this segment, from its lack of refinement to its subpar fuel economy. The V6 is also relatively inefficient, but at least it delivers authoritative power. One concerning development is the G80's escalating base price, which makes it harder to argue that Genesis provides more value than its more established rivals. Notably, the new-for-2025 widescreen 27-inch OLED infotainment module should help cushion that financial blow."—Ranked #4 out of 9 Midsize Luxury Sedans
Which 2025 Genesis G80 Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2025 Genesis G80 that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2025 Genesis G80 2.5T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $57,100
- MPG Combined: 24
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.5-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 300
- Torque: 311 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.5 sec
- Weight: 4,112 lbs
- Length: 196.7 in
The base four-cylinder G80 now comes standard with all-wheel drive, but you still get a projected 30 mpg on the highway. Acceleration is quicker than you might expect from a four.
2. 2025 Genesis G80 3.5T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $69,600
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 375
- Torque: 391 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.7 sec
- Weight: 4,453 lbs
- Length: 196.7 in
The only disappointment with the V6-powered G80 is its fuel economy, which is more SUV-like than sedan-like. There's great punch here, though — not surprising given that 391 horses are at your disposal — and respectable refinement, too.
