Is the 2025 Genesis G70 a Good Car?
"The G70 has proven that it belongs in this segment, checking almost all the boxes except rear-passenger and cargo space (but it's not alone in falling short there). Fuel economy is one area that needs improvement, though, especially with the optional V6. On the road, the G70 is generally a delight, comporting itself more like a sport coupe than a sedan. Trouble is, it doesn't have much more room inside than a sport coupe, so the space factor is a key consideration if you're curious about the G70."—Ranked #5 out of 9 Compact Luxury Sedans

1. 2025 Genesis G70 2.5T Rear-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $42,000
- MPG Combined: 24
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.5-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 300
- Torque: 311 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.7 sec
- Weight: 3,684 lbs
- Length: 184.4 in
New for 2024, the 2.5-liter turbo four has 48 more horses in the stable than its 2.0-liter predecessor, closing the gap considerably between this base engine and the optional turbo V6.
2. 2025 Genesis G70 2.5T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $44,100
- MPG Combined: 23
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.5-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 300
- Torque: 311 lb-ft
- Weight: 3,829 lbs
- Length: 184.4 in
All-wheel drive docks you a point on the fuel-economy front, which is a bit unfortunate because the G70 is already a laggard in that department. We would expect 30 mpg or better on the highway from a four-cylinder sedan in this class.
3. 2025 Genesis G70 3.3T Rear-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $50,450
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.3-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 365
- Torque: 376 lb-ft
- Weight: 3,779 lbs
- Length: 184.4 in
Although the base four-cylinder is no slouch, the 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 is still where it's at if you want the full G70 experience. This car is downright fast when you put your foot in it. Fuel-efficient it is not, but otherwise this powertrain comes up aces.
4. 2025 Genesis G70 3.3T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $52,550
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.3-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 365
- Torque: 376 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.5 sec
- Weight: 3,924 lbs
- Length: 184.4 in
If you're not up on the latest from Genesis, you might be surprised to see that the G70 V6 AWD hits 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. That's sports-car quick. Genesis isn't playing around.
