1. 2024 Ford Maverick 2.0T Front-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $23,815
- MPG Combined: 26
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 250
- Torque: 277 lb-ft
- Weight: 3,563 lbs
- Length: 199.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,500 lbs
A glance at the specs shows why the Maverick is so popular. For a starting price that's dirt cheap by today's standards, you get a robust 250-horsepower turbocharged engine and a four-door cabin paired with a truck bed. It's not a small vehicle — the midsize Explorer SUV is actually an inch shorter than the Maverick — but it is small for a truck.
2. 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid
- Base Price: $25,315
- MPG Combined: 37
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.5-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: CVT
- Horsepower: 191
- Torque: N/A
- 0-60: 7.7 sec
- Weight: 3,674 lbs
- Length: 199.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,500 lbs
The Maverick Hybrid is all about fuel economy, so stick with the 2.0T if you're not looking to maximize your MPG. But there's no doubt that the Hybrid is impressively efficient for a truck, or really for any vehicle, delivering more than 40 mpg in the city — twice what you can expect to get in the Maverick 2.0T. The drawbacks are clear, however: the Hybrid costs more and it's far slower. You also can't get it with all-wheel drive.
3. 2024 Ford Maverick 2.0T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $26,035
- MPG Combined: 25
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 250
- Torque: 277 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.9 sec
- Weight: 3,731 lbs
- Length: 199.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 4,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,500 lbs
Not all AWD Maverick 2.0T examples can tow 4,000 pounds — you need the 4K Towing package for that — but whether you need to tow that much or not, you'll find a lot of goodness in this package.
4. 2024 Ford Maverick Tremor
- Base Price: $32,680
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 250
- Torque: 277 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.0 sec
- Weight: 3,829 lbs
- Length: 200.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,200 lbs
You can't pair the 4K Towing package with the Tremor, but if your tastes run more to off-road shenanigans than trailering, the Tremor's got what you want. Outfitted with all-terrain tires, a superior approach angle (thanks to a unique front bumper with a skid plate), increased ground clearance and a torque-vectoring rear differential that can prioritize one rear wheel if the other one's stuck, the Tremor has some legit off-road chops despite its car-like (read: limited) suspension travel.
