What's New for 2025?
The Equinox EV gets a huge $8,300 price cut across the board for 2025, whether you're looking at the front-drive or the AWD configuration. Chevy has also squeezed a bit more power and torque out of both configurations, notably reaching an even 300 hp with AWD, while the AWD version gets a juicy 22-mile boost in the range column. That means both Equinox EV powertrains now surpass the 300-mile range threshold.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV a Good SUV?
"We're stretching the definition of 'Compact' to squeeze the Equinox EV into this segment, since it clearly competes with the others here on price and features. But keep in mind that the Chevy is significantly longer than most of its rivals, although it's slightly shorter than the Blazer EV, which notably has a much longer wheelbase (121.8 inches vs. 116.3). Focusing on price and range, though, there's no doubt that the Equinox EV is one of the best values going in electric SUVs. It's not exciting to drive, and it lacks the video-game acceleration that many rivals offer, but it's undeniably a lot of EV for the money. Like the Mach-E, however, its peak charge rate is a humble 150 kW, so it's a compromised road-tripper despite the gaudy maximum range."—Ranked #6 out of 12 Compact Electric SUVs

1. 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV Single Motor Front-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $33,600
- Range: 319 mi
- Battery Capacity: 85.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 150 kW

- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 220
- Torque: 243 lb-ft
- Length: 190.6 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,500 lbs
We're still trying to figure out why both the Equinox EV and the Blazer EV exist, but one answer is the specific Equinox EV variant you're reading about. It's the front-wheel-drive configuration, and it's significantly cheaper than any Blazer EV. So if you're shopping for a midsize electric SUV from Chevy, think of the front-wheel-drive Equinox EV as the entry level.
2. 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $36,900
- Range: 307 mi
- Battery Capacity: 85.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 150 kW

- 0-60: 5.9 sec
- Length: 190.6 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,500 lbs
The all-wheel-drive Equinox EV has the exact same power output as the AWD Blazer EV and isn't a whole lot cheaper, so we're a bit confused as to why both models exist. In any case, you can go to your Chevy dealer and mull over which of these similarly sized, priced and powered models you like better.
