Is the 2025 BMW M5 a Good Car?
"In case you haven't been following M5 news closely, the latest model is easily the most controversial yet — and yes, we remember the Bangle M5. That one may have had a strange butt, but it didn't weigh 5,500 pounds, nor did it pack a plug-in-hybrid powertrain good for about 25 miles of electric range. The thing about the new M5 is that BMW's stellar twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine is at the heart of it, and that's always a good thing. Make no mistake: the muscularity of this 717-horsepower machine does justice to the M5 badge and then some. But did it need to be so heavy? Did it need to be four inches longer than the last M5, putting it perilously close to large-sedan territory at 200.6 inches stem to stern? Here's one thing we can all agree on: it's pretty cool that BMW offers a wagon version — the M5 Touring — for just $2k more than the sedan. The Touring is the same length, by the way, making it close to a no-brainer upgrade from the standard M5."—Ranked #5 out of 5 Midsize High-Performance Sedans
