"It’s not exactly a crowd in this segment, but at least you have a choice. So, why choose the brutish M5 Touring over the gorgeous RS 6 Avant? Well…maybe you’d actually use the plug-in-hybrid BMW’s 25 miles or so of electric range? We’re struggling here. Whereas the Audi is a dream car for probably every fast-wagon enthusiast, the M5 Touring is more of a towering technical achievement. It’s the kind of car that gets respect, for sure — 717 horsepower will do that for you — but fails to generate lust or longing.
