Which 2024 BMW i4 M50 Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2024 BMW i4 M50 that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2024 BMW i4 M50 (AWD w/19-inch wheels)
- Base Price: $69,700
- Range: 269 mi
- Battery Capacity: 83.9 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 200 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 536
- Torque: 586 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.7 sec
- Weight: 5,018 lbs
- Length: 188.5 in
There's no denying the awesomeness of the i4 M50's acceleration, and if you stick with the 19-inch wheels, it only gives up 10 miles of range to the significantly slower (but still very quick) i4 xDrive40. That's a neat trick by BMW's engineers — adding huge power with hardly any tradeoff in terms of range despite using the same battery.
2. 2024 BMW i4 M50 (AWD w/20-inch wheels)
- Base Price: $72,200
- Range: 227 mi
- Battery Capacity: 83.9 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 200 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 536
- Torque: 586 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.7 sec
- Weight: 5,018 lbs
- Length: 188.5 in
What a difference an inch of wheel diameter can make, eh? We just don't see the value in this package — you're paying more to lose 42 miles of range, and you're not gaining any acceleration in the deal.
