Which 2024 BMW 3 Series Plug-In Hybrid Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2024 BMW 3 Series Plug-In Hybrid that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2024 BMW 330e (Plug-In Hybrid RWD)
- Base Price: $45,600
- EV Range: 22 mi
- MPG Combined: 27
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 288
- Torque: 310 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.6 sec
- Weight: 4,083 lbs
- Length: 185.9 in
The 330e is an intriguing proposition if you take a lot of short trips around town, which many people do. Although 22 miles of EV range is modest at best, you could do most of your driving on battery power if you made a habit of plugging the car in overnight.
2. 2024 BMW 330e xDrive (Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $47,600
- EV Range: 20 mi
- MPG Combined: 26
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 288
- Torque: 310 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.6 sec
- Weight: 4,180 lbs
- Length: 185.9 in
BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system tends to be a good deal, and so it is in the 330e's case. You can have it for just $2k extra, but keep in mind that it'll cost you about 10% of that electric range, per the EPA.
