What's New for 2025?
The A4 is essentially unchanged, but there are few items to be aware of. The base A4 40 TFSI has been discontinued, so every 2025 A4 gets the more powerful and less fuel efficient (by a substantial 3 mpg combined) 45 TFSI engine. Speaking of fuel economy, the EPA reduced the A4 45 TFSI's combined figure by 1 mpg for 2025, which is why all 2025 A4s are rated at 26 mpg combined versus last year's spread of 27-30 mpg. Inside, the A4 now has Homelink buttons integrated into the rearview mirror, while the Convenience package gains rear USB ports, and the Audi MMI Navigation plus package is newly standard on Premium Plus trims.

Formerly an upgrade from the base A4 40 TFSI, which was discontinued for 2025, the A4 45 TFSI starts you out at a higher level of performance, providing an extra 60 horsepower versus the 40 TFSI. It's all relative, though; what used to count as an upgrade for the A4 merely achieves parity among rival compact luxury sedans. The 45 TFSI also loses a substantial 3 mpg combined versus the old 40 TFSI, per the EPA. By the way, all-wheel drive comes standard on every A4, which may seem like a plus to some, but the reality is that a two-wheel-drive version of the A4 would be front-wheel-drive — it's fundamentally a front-drive platform.
