1. 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q2 (2.0T Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $45,950
- MPG Combined: 25
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 280
- Torque: 306 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.4 sec
- Weight: 3,901 lbs
- Length: 184.6 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,000 lbs
The rear-drive Stelvio is synonymous with entry-level, because the base Sprint trim is the only Stelvio that offers rear-wheel drive. But don't write it off just because it's the price leader. The Stelvio Sprint comes stuffed to the gills with standard features, including adaptive cruise control and the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto duo. If rear-wheel drive suits your lifestyle, you might find that the Sprint is the best value in the Stelvio lineup. You'll be stuck with the bottom-rung 18-inch wheels, however, and they do look rather dorky.
2. 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4 (2.0T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $47,950
- MPG Combined: 24
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 280
- Torque: 306 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.4 sec
- Weight: 4,007 lbs
- Length: 184.6 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,000 lbs
Alfa Romeo's Q4 all-wheel-drive system is optional on the base Stelvo Sprint and mandatory on all other mainstream Stelvio trims (Ti, Veloce and Competizione). We do appreciate how well-equipped the Sprint is for a base model, but it'll be tempting to upgrade to a higher trim, not least because they have bigger wheels and more curb appeal. Notably, the Competizione comes with a mechanical limited-slip differential, which theoretically enhances the Stelvio's cornering poise, but that's also the most expensive trim by a side margin, which would make us think twice. We'd stick with the Ti, because as good as the Veloce's 20-inch wheels look, the Ti's 19s are bound to ride better.
3. 2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio
- Base Price: $87,870
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.9-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 505
- Torque: 443 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.3 sec
- Weight: 4,313 lbs
- Length: 185.1 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is a whole new ballgame compared to the rest of the Stelvio lineup. Sharing its Ferrari-derived turbo V6 with the Giulia Quadrifoglio sport sedan, the Stelvio QF is one of the fastest and most dynamic SUVs on the planet. For the right kind of driver, it's worth every penny of its eye-watering MSRP.
