Is the 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid a Good SUV?
"The Corolla Cross Hybrid is technically a subcompact, but we include it here because it merits consideration from anyone who's looking for a smaller hybrid SUV. You get much swifter acceleration here than you would in the non-hybrid Corolla Cross, and the Hybrid's cargo capacity remains impressive for such a small vehicle. Its only obvious weakness is a relatively cramped backseat, which is where those subcompact dimensions become apparent. But if roomy rear quarters aren't a top priority for you, put this Toyota on your shortlist. It's a great value."—Ranked #8 out of 11 Compact Hybrid SUVs
"It's a little lonely in here, isn't it? Most manufacturers have trained their sights on the Compact Hybrid SUV segment, but we think it's smart to consider subcompacts as well. Why wouldn't you want an even more parkable and maneuverable SUV that still gets great hybrid fuel economy? The Corolla Cross Hybrid checks all those boxes and throws in relatively swift acceleration, which could seal the deal. You might think you need to upgrade to a compact hybrid SUV to get that quickness, but the Corolla Cross Hybrid gives it to you in an even tidier wrapper."—Ranked #1 out of 2 Subcompact Hybrid SUVs
