- 2024 Porsche Taycan 4S Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- 2024 Porsche Taycan 4S Sedan Long Range (Dual Motor AWD)
- 2024 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
1. 2024 Porsche Taycan Sedan (Single Motor Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $90,900
- Range: 208 mi
- Battery Capacity: 79.2 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 402
- Torque: 254 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.1 sec
- Weight: 4,568 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
The base Taycan sedan has proven to deliver far more than its EPA-rated range of 208 miles in the real world, but even so, we wouldn't want to stand pat with the standard battery. There's better stuff deeper into the Taycan lineup.
2. 2024 Porsche Taycan Sedan Long Range (Single Motor RWD)
- Base Price: $96,680
- Range: 242 mi
- Battery Capacity: 93.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 469
- Torque: 263 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.1 sec
- Weight: 4,568 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
Although adding the bigger battery costs nearly $6k, we'd say it's well worth it. The standard battery barely gives you 200 miles of range in the base Taycan, but the bigger one pumps that figure up to a more respectable (if still quite modest) 242 miles.
3. 2024 Porsche Taycan 4S Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- Base Price: $111,700
- Range: 206 mi
- Battery Capacity: 79.2 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 522
- Torque: 472 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.8 sec
- Weight: 4,773 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
Upgrading from the base single-motor Taycan to the dual-motor Taycan 4S nets you a big increase in power and torque, but the range is still poor at just 206 miles with the standard battery pack.
4. 2024 Porsche Taycan 4S Sedan Long Range (Dual Motor AWD)
- Base Price: $117,270
- Range: 235 mi
- Battery Capacity: 93.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 563
- Torque: 479 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.8 sec
- Weight: 4,773 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
The bigger battery ("Performance Battery Plus," in Porsche's parlance) makes a big difference in the Taycan 4S's range column, adding nearly 30 miles. That's close to a 15 percent improvement.
5. 2024 Porsche Taycan GTS Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- Base Price: $139,300
- Range: 246 mi
- Battery Capacity: 93.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 590
- Torque: 626 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.5 sec
- Weight: 5,077 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
The Taycan GTS comes standard with the bigger battery ("Performance Battery Plus"), unlike its lesser brethren, so you don't have to worry about adding it as an option. Range still isn't impressive by today's standards, but at least it's decent at nearly 250 miles. Acceleration, obviously, is more than adequate.
6. 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- Base Price: $160,800
- Range: 238 mi
- Battery Capacity: 93.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 670
- Torque: 626 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.0 sec
- Weight: 5,119 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
Like the GTS sedan, the Taycan Turbo sedan comes standard with the bigger battery pack, but it also puts out more power and torque, so don't expect a range champion here. Indeed, the Turbo can't even reach 240 miles of range, according to the EPA.
7. 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sedan (Dual Motor AWD)
- Base Price: $194,900
- Range: 222 mi
- Battery Capacity: 93.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 270 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 750
- Torque: 774 lb-ft
- 0-60: 2.6 sec
- Weight: 5,101 lbs
- Length: 195.4 in
There's a law of diminishing returns with EV performance, and the Taycan Turbo S is a prime example. Sure, it's more powerful than the Taycan Turbo and gets to 60 mph quicker, but the Turbo already got to 60 in 3 seconds flat. Is there really any value in dipping into the 2s? What we can say for sure is that adding power hurts range, to the tune of 222 miles versus the regular Turbo's 238. So you're paying a lot more money for less range and slightly better acceleration.
