Which 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
Scroll to:
1. 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Base (3.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $84,300
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 348
- Torque: 368 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.4 sec
- Weight: 4,740 lbs
- Length: 194.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
You might be wondering how the base Cayenne Coupe gets to 60 mph three-tenths of a second quicker than the regular base Cayenne, even though the Coupe is mechanically identical and weighs more. Great question! The answer lies with the Sport Chrono package, which includes launch control and comes standard on even the entry-level Cayenne Coupe, whereas it's an option on the base Cayenne. Those three-tenths simply show you how much of a difference launch control makes. If you don't turn launch control on (i.e., under normal circumstances), the Coupe and the regular Cayenne will be neck-and-neck.
2. 2024 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe (3.0T PHEV AWD)
- Base Price: $95,700
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: N/A
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 463
- Torque: 479 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.6 sec
- Weight: 5,415 lbs
- Length: 194.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
We're confused by the Cayenne Coupe E-Hybrid. EPA estimates weren't available as of this writing, but all indications point to an electric range of less than 25 miles for this luxury plug-in hybrid SUV. What's the point of all that added weight and complexity if that's all you're getting on the EV front?
3. 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe S (4.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $102,100
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.0-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 468
- Torque: 442 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.4 sec
- Weight: 4,941 lbs
- Length: 194.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
Just like the base Cayenne Coupe, the V8-powered S Coupe beats the regular Cayenne S by three-tenths to 60 mph, and for the same reason: Sport Chrono (with launch control) comes standard on the Coupe but is optional on the standard Cayenne. In any case, we're not enamored of the Cayenne Coupe's styling, but this turbo V8 is so good that it might make us forget about that. It's the one to have in this lineup.
4. 2024 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe (3.0T PHEV AWD)
- Base Price: $104,400
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: N/A
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 512
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.4 sec
- Weight: 5,377 lbs
- Length: 194.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
Although the Cayenne Coupe S E-Hybrid bumps up the power output a bit, its acceleration to 60 mph barely improves. Given that it shares the regular Coupe E-Hybrid's modest battery pack, we can assume that EV range, projected to be 20-25 miles for the standard model, will not improve. This all might make sense as a way to get around emissions tolls in European city centers, but it's a head-scratcher on our shores.
5. 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe (4.0T PHEV AWD)
- Base Price: $151,400
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: N/A
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.0-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 729
- Torque: 700 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.5 sec
- Weight: 5,719 lbs
- Length: 194.1 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,614 lbs
If we had to choose a Cayenne Coupe hybrid, this one would win easily. The V8 really brings this SUV to life, and although the same is true of the V8 in the regular Cayenne S, the question was which hybrid we'd have, right? Of course, if the hybrids had 50 miles of range rather than something in the 20s, we'd be having a very different conversation.
6. 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT (4.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $196,300
- MPG Combined: 16
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.0-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 650
- Torque: 626 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.1 sec
- Weight: 5,055 lbs
- Length: 194.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
The Turbo GT is on a whole different level, barely needing 3 seconds to hit 60 mph.
