Is the 2024 Nissan Titan a Good Truck?
"The Titan has essentially been left to die on the vine, which is a bummer for those who appreciate its brawny yet refined 5.6-liter V8 engine, ourselves included. Functional though the interior clearly is, it's a trip back in time compared to more recently redesigned rivals. Still, we wouldn't count the Titan out if we were shopping for a full-size truck. That V8 is really nice, and the hubbub surrounding higher-profile trucks might help you get a nice price on this Nissan."—Ranked #6 out of 6 Full-Size Trucks

1. 2024 Nissan Titan 5.6 RWD (Crew Cab, Short Bed)
- Base Price: $46,690
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 5.6-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 400
- Torque: 413 lb-ft
- Weight: 5,493 lbs
- Length: 228.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 9,290 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,600 lbs
With generous rear legroom and available six-person seating if you go with the front bench (standard and only offered on the base SV trim), the Titan Crew Cab is like a family SUV and a truck all in one. It only comes with the short bed, though, so if you want the long bed, you'll have to consider the King Cab with its relatively cramped backseat.
2. 2024 Nissan Titan 5.6 4WD (Crew Cab, Short Bed)
- Base Price: $49,880
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 5.6-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 400
- Torque: 413 lb-ft
- Weight: 5,642 lbs
- Length: 228.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 9,130 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,650 lbs
As with the rear-drive version, the Titan Crew Cab 4x4 can be equipped with dual bench seats for six-passenger seating, albeit only in the base SV trim level. There's no fuel-economy penalty with 4WD, so it really comes down to personal preference and price tolerance. Notably, the more off-road-biased PRO-4X trim drops a tick to 16 mpg combined (14 city/20 highway).
3. 2024 Nissan Titan 5.6 4WD (King Cab, Long Bed)
- Base Price: $50,060
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 5.6-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 400
- Torque: 413 lb-ft
- Weight: 5,588 lbs
- Length: 228.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 9,210 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 1,710 lbs
Offered only in SV trim with four-wheel drive and a long bed, the Titan King Cab could be your one-stop shop for cargo-carrying versatility and off-road capability. Being a King Cab rather than a Crew Cab, it does go without the convenience of forward-hinged rear doors, giving you rear-hinged doors that can't open unless the relevant front door is also open. Like every Titan, it comes standard with a strong and smooth naturally aspirated V8 engine.
