What's New for 2025?
The Ariya is essentially unchanged, adding only standard wireless phone charging across the lineup. Note, however, that last year's range leader, the front-wheel-drive Venture+ with the bigger battery, has been discontinued, which is why the 2025 Ariya's maximum range drops from 304 miles to 289.

Is the 2025 Nissan Ariya a Good SUV?
"It's hard to stand out from the crowd of small electric SUVs, and the Ariya is in danger of getting lost in the shuffle. Forget about the sub-$40k base price; that gets you the smaller battery with range that barely surpasses 200 miles. It'll be at least $45k or so to get the bigger battery, but you do get a decent 289 miles of range at that price, so it's not like the Ariya is uncompetitive. It's also a pleasant thing to drive, thanks to a quiet cabin and a suspension that emphasizes comfort over sport. We might have something here if Nissan could have found some styling pizzazz for the exterior; as things stand, the Ariya looks like just another electrified transportation egg."—Ranked #9 out of 12 Compact Electric SUVs

- 2025 Nissan Ariya Single Motor FWD "Evolve+" (91-kWh Battery)
- 2025 Nissan Ariya Dual Motor AWD "Engage+ | Evolve+ e-4ORCE" (91-kWh Battery)
- 2025 Nissan Ariya Dual Motor AWD "Platinum+ e-4ORCE" (91-kWh Battery)
1. 2025 Nissan Ariya Single Motor FWD "Engage" (66-kWh Battery)
- Base Price: $39,770
- Range: 216 mi
- Battery Capacity: 66.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 130 kW
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 214
- Torque: 221 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,323 lbs
- Length: 182.9 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
Equipped with the smallest battery in the Ariya lineup, the base Engage trim with front-wheel drive pulls the starting price below $40k. However, that modest 66-kWh battery and its 216-mile range rating make this version a hard pass in our book. We can forgive range in the low 200s if it's the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, but the Ariya Engage FWD is not that.
2. 2025 Nissan Ariya Dual Motor AWD "Engage e-4ORCE" (66-kWh Battery)
- Base Price: $43,770
- Range: 205 mi
- Battery Capacity: 66.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 130 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 335
- Torque: 413 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,608 lbs
- Length: 182.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,500 lbs
Adding the second motor gives the Ariya a towing rating, so there's that. Of course, the bigger draw is a huge bump in power and torque, but you're going to want the bigger battery, too — the base Engage AWD trim's smaller battery barely gets past the 200-mile range threshold.
3. 2025 Nissan Ariya Single Motor FWD "Evolve+" (91-kWh Battery)
- Base Price: $44,370
- Range: 289 mi
- Battery Capacity: 91.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 130 kW
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 238
- Torque: 221 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,528 lbs
- Length: 182.9 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
Well, that's more like it. Don't even think about the base Engage FWD trim when the Evolve+ FWD exists — it gives you about 80 more miles of range, thanks to its bigger battery. In fact, the Ariya Evolve+ FWD is the longest-range Ariya of all, and you get a little extra power, too. It takes the Ariya from back-of-the-pack to solid contender status.
4. 2025 Nissan Ariya Dual Motor AWD "Engage+ | Evolve+ e-4ORCE" (91-kWh Battery)
- Base Price: $45,370
- Range: 272 mi
- Battery Capacity: 91.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 130 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 389
- Torque: 442 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,899 lbs
- Length: 182.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,500 lbs
The bigger battery is a must-have in any Ariya, but certainly if you want all-wheel drive. The difference between 205 miles of range and 272 is huge, and remember, that's on a 100% charge — a normal 80% charge gives you significantly less. Notably, the Evolve+ e-4ORCE starts about $3k higher than the Engage+ e-4ORCE. That premium gets you a panoramic moonroof and Nissan's 360-degree camera system, but it's essentially the same vehicle as the Engage+ e-4ORCE.
5. 2025 Nissan Ariya Dual Motor AWD "Platinum+ e-4ORCE" (91-kWh Battery)
- Base Price: $54,370
- Range: 267 mi
- Battery Capacity: 91.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 130 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 389
- Torque: 442 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.0 sec
- Weight: 5,507 lbs
- Length: 182.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,500 lbs
The data here represents the Platinum+ e-4FORCE trim's peak efficiency and range, which come courtesy of the standard 19-inch wheels. If you want to add the optional 20-inch wheels, the EPA drops you down to 39 kWh/100 mi. on the efficiency front and 257 miles of range, although Nissan won't charge you extra to look better. Note how much the weight goes up when you jump to the Platinum+ — this is the big boy of the Ariya lineup. Nappa leather upholstery, a Bose audio system and Nissan's upgraded ProPilot 2.0 driver assistance technologies are among the upgrades.
