- 2024 Mini Cooper Countryman All4 (1.5T All-Wheel Drive)
- 2024 Mini Cooper S Countryman All4 (2.0T All-Wheel Drive)

- 2024 Mini Cooper Countryman John Cooper Works All4 (2.0T AWD)
1. 2024 Mini Cooper Countryman (1.5T Front-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $32,650
- MPG Combined: 28
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 1.5-liter inline-3
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 7-speed automated manual
- Horsepower: 134
- Torque: 162 lb-ft
- 0-60: 9.3 sec
- Weight: 3,443 lbs
- Length: 169.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,565 lbs
The base three-cylinder Countryman needs more than 9 seconds to get to 60 mph. That's not acceptable. Next!
2. 2024 Mini Cooper S Countryman (2.0T Front-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $32,900
- MPG Combined: 28
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 7-speed automated manual
- Horsepower: 189
- Torque: 206 lb-ft
- 0-60: 7.2 sec
- Weight: 3,413 lbs
- Length: 169.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,565 lbs
It's as if Mini knew that the base three-cylinder Cooper Countryman wasn't competitive, because the Cooper S Countryman only costs $250 more to start. Why go with the S? It delivers far better acceleration without hurting fuel economy. Oddly, the S even weighs a bit less than the base model despite its stronger engine. It's the no-brainer pick of the two.
3. 2024 Mini Cooper Countryman All4 (1.5T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $34,150
- MPG Combined: 26
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 1.5-liter inline-3
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 134
- Torque: 162 lb-ft
- 0-60: 9.3 sec
- Weight: 3,545 lbs
- Length: 169.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,565 lbs
Adding the weight of all-wheel drive to the already power-starved base Countryman is not the answer. Skip the three-cylinder engine if you're considering this model.
4. 2024 Mini Cooper S Countryman All4 (2.0T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $35,000
- MPG Combined: 26
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 189
- Torque: 206 lb-ft
- 0-60: 7.1 sec
- Weight: 3,618 lbs
- Length: 169.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 1,565 lbs
Notably, all-wheel drive brings a different transmission — an eight-speed automatic versus the seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual that comes with front-drive Countrymen.
5. 2024 Mini Countryman Cooper SE All4 (1.5T Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $42,700
- MPG Combined: 29
- EV Range: 17 mi
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 1.5-liter inline-3
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 6-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 221
- Torque: 284 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.5 sec
- Weight: 3,926 lbs
- Length: 169.8 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
Give the plug-in Countryman a miss, at least for this generation. It costs too much for its measly 17 miles of electric range.
6. 2024 Mini Cooper Countryman John Cooper Works All4 (2.0T AWD)
- Base Price: $43,800
- MPG Combined: 26
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.0-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 301
- Torque: 331 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.9 sec
- Weight: 3,688 lbs
- Length: 169.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,425 lbs
Feeling a bit unhinged? The JCW Countryman might be the subcompact SUV for you. It costs a pretty penny by Countryman standards, but it also gets you to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds and looks like no other SUV on the road. Plus, it's still decidedly "mini" for an SUV, so parking it is like parking a compact hatchback.
