What's New for 2025?
The EQE gets new batteries across the lineup (except the EQE 350 4MATIC) that Mercedes says should improve range, but the results are mixed at best. According to the EPA, the base 2025 EQE 350+ does gain 10 miles of range, but the EQE 500 loses 32 miles, and the AMG EQE drops 10 miles. The regular EQE models also receive updated regenerative braking software and available soft-close doors, while the AMG EQE adds a digital vehicle key and a center airbag between the front seats.

Is the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan a Good Car?
"The EV revolution has found Mercedes in the unusual position of playing catch-up, and so it is with the EQE Sedan. Its maximum DC charge speed of 170 kW is yesterday's news, and while its range ratings are generally adequate, only the base rear-drive EQE 350+ clears the 300-mile threshold (by a mere eight miles at that). There's also the matter of its soap-bar styling, which seems to have been formed in a wind tunnel with no input from actual designers. No one will feel desire for this car based on how it looks, and that may be the biggest problem of all."—Ranked #6 out of 7 Midsize Luxury Electric Cars

1. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ Sedan (Single Motor Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $74,900
- Range: 308 mi
- Battery Capacity: 96.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 170 kW
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 288
- Torque: 417 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.2 sec
- Weight: 5,201 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
The entry-level EQE 350+ checks some boxes for an electric midsize luxury sedan, including range of more than 300 miles per charge. Its acceleration is unimpressive for a $75k EV, however, as is its peak DC charge rate of 170 kW.
2. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4MATIC Sedan (Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $77,900
- Range: 267 mi
- Battery Capacity: 90.6 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 170 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 288
- Torque: 564 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.0 sec
- Weight: 5,434 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
The EQE 350 4MATIC is a bit of a head-scratcher in that it's got twice as many electric motors as the base EQE 350+ (two versus one), yet it makes the exact same amount of horsepower. Granted, there's more torque with 4MATIC, but there's also more weight, so the result is virtually a dead heat in the sprint to 60 mph, plus 41 fewer miles of range for the pricier 4MATIC version, a gap that widened considerably for 2025 thanks to the new battery in the EQE 350+.
3. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4MATIC Sedan (Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $85,900
- Range: 266 mi
- Battery Capacity: 96.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 170 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 402
- Torque: 633 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.5 sec
- Weight: 5,445 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
The EQE 500 delivers impressive acceleration, but its range took a dive for 2025 despite the introduction of a bigger battery that Mercedes expected to improve range. We used to think that the 500 was the no-brainer pick of this litter, but now we're not so sure. It's more of a toss-up between the EQE 350+ and the EQE 500, depending on whether you prioritize range or acceleration.
4. 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE 4MATIC+ Sedan
- Base Price: $106,900
- Range: 220 mi
- Battery Capacity: 90.6 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 170 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 617
- Torque: 701 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.2 sec
- Weight: 5,547 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
The AMG EQE gives us pause like so many high-performance EVs do these days. Why? Because sure, it's the fastest version of the EQE you can buy, but you have to give up 46 miles of range relative to the second-fastest EQE 500, which is a fast car in its own right. Is it worth giving up all that range to go even faster? And let's be honest, the AMG EQE's range rating of 220 miles is deeply unimpressive by current standards. Mercedes charges $21k more for the AMG treatment, too — a tough sell.
