What's New for 2025?
The TX is fundamentally unchanged this year, but the 7.0-inch digital instrument panel that came standard on some models last year has been discontinued, meaning that every 2025 TX comes standard with the upgraded 12.3-inch panel. There's also a new F Sport Handling package for the TX 350 AWD that includes black exterior trim and wheels, adaptive suspension dampers, a self-parking system, a panoramic roof, power-folding third-row seats and ventilated front seats.

Is the 2025 Lexus TX a Good SUV?
"We'll lead with the bad news: the TX's base turbocharged four-cylinder engine won't knock your socks off. We're talking zero to 60 mph in 8 seconds here — that's slower than most non-luxury three-row haulers. You can opt for luxury-grade swiftness by stretching for the TX 500h hybrid or the TX 550+ plug-in hybrid, but now you're up in the $70-80k range. Another oddity is that the TX only offers seven-passenger seating in non-hybrid TX 350 trim, so if you upgrade to a hybrid for more power and efficiency, you're stuck with six-passenger seating. Nonetheless, the TX carries over most of the excellence from its Toyota Grand Highlander platform-mate, including copious cargo space and adult-friendly seating in all three rows. The standards are higher for luxury SUVs, which is why the TX falls down a bit, but it's still a top contender."—Ranked #2 out of 10 Midsize 3-Row Luxury SUVs
Which 2025 Lexus TX Should I Buy?

1. 2025 Lexus TX 350 (2.4T 8-Speed Automatic)
- Base Price: $55,140
- MPG Combined: 23
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.4-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 275
- Torque: 317 lb-ft
- 0-60: 8.0 sec
- Weight: 4,420 lbs
- Length: 203.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
The base TX 350's 8.0-second gallop to 60 mph is nothing to write home about, but the turbocharged engine's torque will likely feel more than adequate to most shoppers. Notably, it's only this non-hybrid TX 350 that offers 7-passenger seating, meaning a second-row bench seat. The hybrid and the plug-in hybrid come only with 6-passenger seating that includes mandatory second-row captain's chairs.
2. 2025 Lexus TX 350 AWD (2.4T 8-Speed Automatic)
- Base Price: $56,740
- MPG Combined: 23
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.4-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 275
- Torque: 317 lb-ft
- 0-60: 7.8 sec
- Weight: 4,575 lbs
- Length: 203.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
Despite its weight disadvantage, the TX 350 AWD gets to 60 mph two-tenths of a second sooner than the standard front-drive version, presumably due to superior traction management off the line.
3. 2025 Lexus TX 500h AWD (2.4T Hybrid 6-Speed Automatic)
- Base Price: $68,660
- MPG Combined: 27
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.4-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 6-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 366
- Torque: 406 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.1 sec
- Weight: 4,970 lbs
- Length: 203.5 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
It's interesting that Lexus decided not to offer an efficiency-oriented TX Hybrid, at least not yet. What we have here is the high-performance hybrid powertrain that's familiar from the RX 500h. Similarly, the TX 500h is only offered with the aggressive F Sport trim package, so this is not your typical Lexus hybrid. That's confirmed by the fuel economy numbers, which are frankly disappointing for a hybrid — if you can't crack 30 mpg on the highway, maybe you're putting a little too much emphasis on going fast.
4. 2025 Lexus TX 550h+ AWD (3.5 Plug-In Hybrid CVT)
- Base Price: $77,210
- MPG Combined: 29
- EV Range: 33 mi
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: CVT
- Horsepower: 404
- Torque: N/A
- 0-60: 5.9 sec
- Weight: 5,400 lbs
- Length: 203.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
The plug-in-hybrid TX 550h+ is easily the heaviest and most expensive TX you can buy, but to us, it makes more sense than the TX 500h conventional hybrid. Why? Because the PHEV is fractionally quicker to 60 mph, fractionally more efficient in hybrid mode, and you get 33 miles of electric range on top of it.
