What's New for 2025?
A Stealth appearance package (pictured above) debuts with various gray and black styling elements, including a set of glossy black 23-inch wheels. Meanwhile, the SV Edition Two takes the baton from last year's (you guessed it) SV Edition One and continues to offer the excellent BMW-sourced 4.4-liter turbo V8.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a Good SUV?
"The Sport is arguably Range Rover's most well-rounded model, delivering capable on-road handling and robust towing capacity in a manageable midsize package. It's heavy, though — more than 5,000 pounds to start — and its inline-6 engine isn't fully up to the task of motivating all that mass. Previous RR Sports leaned on various V8 engines to get the job done, but the only way to get a V8 in the current Sport is to pay nearly $200k for the exclusive SV model. While we like this rig in general, it deserves better in the engine room."—Ranked #11 out of 11 Midsize Luxury SUVs

1. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport P360 (3.0T S/C All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $83,700
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 355
- Torque: 369 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.7 sec
- Weight: 5,090 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
We're surprised that the base Range Rover Sport comes with the "P360" version of Land Rover's turbocharged and supercharged 3.0-liter inline-6 engine. After all, the Sport is supposed to be, you know, the sporty one — so why does it come standard with the same 355-horsepower engine as the three-row Discovery P360, which lists for nearly $15k less? We'd want more urge from the engine bay in our RR Sport; if you're with us on that, give this base powertrain a miss.
2. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport P400 (3.0T S/C All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $90,800
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 395
- Torque: 406 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.2 sec
- Weight: 5,090 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
If you want to move beyond the base P360 engine, which you do, you'll need to step up to at least the Dynamic SE trim level. The base engine on the Dynamic SE is known as P400 — it's largely the same turbocharged and supercharged inline-6 as the P360, except Land Rover turns up the wick to nearly 400 horsepower. That's more like it, and as a bonus, you even get incrementally better fuel economy in the deal.
3. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport P550e (3.0T S/C Plug-In Hybrid AWD)
- Base Price: $118,700
- MPG Combined: N/A
- EV Range: 53 mi
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter inline-6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged and supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 543
- Torque: 590 lb-ft
- 0-60: 4.7 sec
- Weight: 6,025 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,614 lbs
The EPA hasn't tested a Range Rover Sport plug-in hybrid from the current generation yet, so there's much we don't yet know. What we do know is that the P550e, which comes only in the ultra-fancy Autobiography trim, weighs three tons and supposedly gets to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds while offering 53 miles of all-electric range.
4. 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two (4.4T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $180,700
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 4.4-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 626
- Torque: 553 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.6 sec
- Weight: 5,700 lbs
- Length: 196.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,716 lbs
Replacing the previous-generation RR Sport's top-speed SVR model, the SV Edition One is only available by invitation from Land Rover for 2024; however, it should be publicly available next year. We don't love that Land Rover paid BMW to borrow its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine for this application, but if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, we suppose.
