Which 2024 Kia EV6 Should I Buy?

1. 2024 Kia EV6 Standard Range (Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $42,600
- Range: 232 mi
- Battery Capacity: 58.0 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 180 kW
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 167
- Torque: 258 lb-ft
- 0-60: 8.0 sec
- Weight: 4,023 lbs
- Length: 184.3 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
The entry-level EV6 Standard Range is the only EV6 with the smaller 58-kWh battery. That's why it makes the least power in the EV6 family and has the lowest range, too, aside from the speed-first EV6 GT. We wouldn't seriously consider this particular configuration; you're far better off demanding the larger battery and making your decision from there.
2. 2024 Kia EV6 Long Range (Rear-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $45,950
- Range: 310 mi
- Battery Capacity: 77.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 240 kW
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 225
- Torque: 258 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.7 sec
- Weight: 4,255 lbs
- Length: 184.3 in
- Towing Capacity: N/A
The way we see it, range is so important for EV buyers that most other numbers pale by comparison, even gaudy acceleration stats. That's why the EV6 Long Range RWD — which is available in Light, Wind or GT-Line trim — is our pick in this lineup. To be clear, we wouldn't pick it if it didn't have satisfactory acceleration, but we'd say 0-60 in less than 7 seconds is quick enough for most tastes, especially given the instant-on torque of the electric motor. Now consider the luxury of the Long Range RWD's 310 miles of range, which is easily the highest rating of any EV6.
3. 2024 Kia EV6 Long Range (AWD w/19-inch wheels)
- Base Price: $49,850
- Range: 282 mi
- Battery Capacity: 77.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 240 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 320
- Torque: 446 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.1 sec
- Weight: 4,502 lbs
- Length: 184.3 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,300 lbs
Although our top EV6 pick is the Long Range RWD, the Long Range AWD w/19-inch wheels is a close second because it adds a lot of acceleration in return for a reasonable 28 miles of range. In Kia's EV6 lineup, the Long Range AWD with 19s translates to the Light e-AWD and Wind e-AWD trims, so focus on those two trims if this is your favorite EV6. The pricier GT-Line e-AWD trim comes standard with 20s, which exact a hefty range toll.
4. 2024 Kia EV6 Long Range (AWD w/20-inch wheels)
- Base Price: $57,600
- Range: 252 mi
- Battery Capacity: 77.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 240 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 320
- Torque: 446 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.1 sec
- Weight: 4,502 lbs
- Length: 184.3 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,300 lbs
The Long Range AWD with 20-inch wheels is only offered in GT-Line e-AWD trim, and we'd recommend avoiding it at all costs. Why? Because you don't get any extra power or torque in this variant, yet the 20s take a meaty 30-mile bite out of the maximum range. To make matters worse, the GT-Line e-AWD is the most expensive EV6 trim shy of the insanely fast GT. No matter how pretty you think those 20-inch wheels are, they're not worth spending more to get far less range.
5. 2024 Kia EV6 GT
- Base Price: $61,600
- Range: 218 mi
- Battery Capacity: 77.4 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 240 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 1 electric motor
- Horsepower: 576
- Torque: 545 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.2 sec
- Weight: 4,795 lbs
- Length: 184.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 2,300 lbs
The GT's performance is awesome, hands down. We just wish it had a little more range, because 218 miles of EPA range means well less than 200 miles in real-world driving where you're not going to run it down to zero and charge it to 100% every time.
