FAST FACTS
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S
Rank
Pros
- Sizzling acceleration
- Competitive 300-plus-mile range capability
- Infotainment screens galore (if you're into that sort of thing)
Cons
- High starting price
- Ground clearance is more car-like than Jeep-like
- Unclear what makes this the Jeep of midsize luxury EV SUVs
What's New for 2024?
Jeep's first purely electric vehicle is a midsize crossover SUV that doesn't seem to have serious off-road chops, judging by its 6.4-inch ground clearance and wagon-like appearance. But it does have 600 horsepower and a claimed 300-plus miles of range, so there's that.

Is the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S a Good SUV?
"It's hardly the first Jeep to be classified as a luxury SUV, but the Wagoneer S may still raise some eyebrows with its presence here. Check the specs, though, and you'll understand. With supercar-adjacent acceleration to 60 mph (3.4 seconds, per Jeep) and a starting price of more than $70k, there's no other logical place to put it. So, how does Jeep's first pure EV stack up? By the numbers, we'll call it good, if not great. The magical 300-mile range threshold has been surpassed, albeit by a hair, and there's obviously plenty of power on tap. But if you're interested in a Jeep EV, don't you want more than 6.4 inches of ground clearance? Our main concern is that there's just not enough Jeepiness here to move the needle. The market is saturated with super-fast electric SUVs that give you 300 miles of range or thereabouts. So why get the Jeep, especially when you can have a Cadillac Lyriq, for example, with more range and style for less coin?"—Ranked #6 out of 6 Midsize Luxury Electric SUVs
Which 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. There's only one standalone version of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S, and here it is, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $70,795
- Range: 303 mi
- Battery Capacity: 100.5 kWh
- Peak Charge Rate: 203 kW
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2 electric motors
- Horsepower: 600
- Torque: 617 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.4 sec
- Weight: 5,667 lbs
- Length: 192.4 in
- Towing Capacity: 3,400 lbs
With 6.4 inches of ground clearance, 3,400 pounds of towing capacity and styling more befitting of a crossover or (gasp!) a wagon than a tough SUV, the Wagoneer S may have some explaining to do in certain quarters. Its 400-volt architecture will also raise some eyebrows, considering that this is an all-new model. Jeep does manage to squeeze out a peak DC charge rate of 203 kW, which is broadly competitive, but Hyundai and Porsche, to name a couple of EV notables, utilize 800-volt architecture to help unlock higher peak rates, while Tesla maximizes its 400-volt architecture with 250-kW charging. Jeep's a bit behind the curve, then, and the Wagoneer S doesn't have obviously Jeepy character traits to balance that out.
