Is the 2025 Infiniti QX80 a Good SUV?
"With its cavernous interior, high-tech dashboard and 450-horsepower turbo V6, the QX80 is a bona fide player in this exclusive class. Early reviews have found fault with its jiggly ride, however, and that new-for-2025 V6 gets the same 20 mpg highway as the previous generation's naturally aspirated V8. We like the QX80's styling and presence on the road, but this new model is a bit of an uneven effort so far."—Ranked #6 out of 7 Full-Size Luxury SUVs
Which 2025 Infiniti QX80 Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2025 Infiniti QX80 that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2025 Infiniti QX80 3.5T Rear-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $82,450
- MPG Combined: 18
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 450
- Torque: 516 lb-ft
- Length: 211.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,500 lbs
The redesigned 2025 QX80 didn't get any easier to park — it's three inches wider than its predecessor, which could be a problem if you're trying to fit the thing into a garage. We also find the styling less distinctive this time around, though it's undoubtedly more contemporary. Another disappointing aspect is the fuel economy, which remains unimpressive despite the switch from naturally aspirated V8 power to the new turbocharged V6. You get two additional miles per gallon in city driving, according to the EPA, but the 20-mpg highway figure is the same as it was with last year's V8.
2. 2025 Infiniti QX80 3.5T Four-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $85,550
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 9-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 450
- Torque: 516 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.1 sec
- Weight: 6,491 lbs
- Length: 211.2 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,500 lbs
Adding 4WD to the QX80 predictably comes with a fuel-economy penalty, but you only lose a single mile per gallon overall. Still, we'd be remiss not to point out that last year's V8-powered QX80 4WD got the same 19-mpg highway rating from the EPA as the new V6-powered model. As with the 2WD version, it's city driving where the EPA thinks the turbo V6 will make up ground on the V8.
