What's New for 2025?
The GV80 gets its first refresh this year, and it's mostly about what's inside, highlighted by a new 27-inch OLED display that contains both the driver's instrument panel and the central infotainment interface. Also of note, the 3.5T V6 version has gone way upmarket pricewise — last year's two-row 3.5T that started in the mid-$60s is gone, and the only way to get a two-row 3.5T now is to pay nearly $80k for the Prestige model. The three-row 3.5T still starts in the low $70s, while the base 2.5T four-cylinder version remains two-row-only.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 a Good SUV?
"Although the GV80 is available with three seating rows if you get the 3.5T V6 version, it's a two-row SUV at heart, and a good one at that. If your idea of luxury is a well-insulated cabin with plenty of upscale touches, this handsome rig is well worth a look. New tech for 2025 helps the GV80 stay fresh, including a widescreen infotainment module that looks great and works well. On the other hand, despite all the adulation the GV80 has received from the automotive press, we're somewhat underwhelmed by its driving character. In corners, it feels heavy and tall, and that turbo V6 doesn't put the power down with full authority, especially compared to rival German engines. Also, in an odd twist, the GV80 V6 is actually more expensive for 2025 than both the six-cylinder BMW X5 and the six-cylinder Mercedes-Benz GLE. The differentiator for this Genesis remains its killer styling, then, as opposed to how it handles or accelerates, or even how attractively it's priced. But hey, people want whips that turn heads, and the GV80 does that as well as any SUV here."—Ranked #7 out of 11 Midsize Luxury SUVs

1. 2025 Genesis GV80 2.5T All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $58,200
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 2.5-liter inline-4
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 300
- Torque: 311 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.1 sec
- Weight: 4,850 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,000 lbs
The GV80's resume has few flaws, but the fuel economy stands out as a disappointment, even in this lightest configuration with the four-cylinder engine and two rows of seats. You can't get the optional third row with the four-cylinder, by the way; it's only offered on the 3.5T with the Advanced package.
2. 2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T All-Wheel Drive (3-Row)
- Base Price: $74,300
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 375
- Torque: 391 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.3 sec
- Weight: 5,082 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,000 lbs
Surprisingly, the three-row 2025 GV80 V6 is more attainable than the two-row version, which now costs significantly more. This year's three-row V6 is actually about the same price as last year's, which required adding the Advanced package. What's notable this year is that the two-row V6 is positioned as a more premium option rather than as the entry-level GV80 V6 configuration.
3. 2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T All-Wheel Drive (2-Row)
- Base Price: $79,800
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 375
- Torque: 391 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.3 sec
- Weight: 5,115 lbs
- Length: 194.7 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,000 lbs
The 3.5T V6 is a no-brainer GV80 upgrade in our book. Not only is the V6 stronger and more refined than the 2.5T four-cylinder, it's also not that far behind in fuel economy. But is it a no-brainer to pay what Genesis is asking for the two-row GV80 V6? Not for 2025, which marks the transition of the two-row V6 to the top-of-the-line specification, as it's only offered in Prestige trim. Now that the three-row V6 is significantly cheaper while naturally remaining more versatile, this two-row spec loses much of its appeal.
