2025 Dodge Durango
Rank
- #15 in Midsize 3-Row SUVs
What's New for 2025?
The Durango is fundamentally unchanged this year, but the lineup has been greatly simplified. All Durangos now have three seating rows (last year there was a smattering of two-row builds), and all but the base GT come standard with all-wheel drive. The SRT 392 has sadly been discontinued, leaving only the R/T and the SRT Hellcat as V8-powered options. Speaking of the Hellcat, it comes in three distinct flavors for 2025 — Silver Bullet, Hammerhead or Brass Monkey — for the same six-figure base price.

Is the 2025 Dodge Durango a Good SUV?
"The current Durango has been with us for what feels like forever, but it still drives and rides nicely, and there's adult-friendly room here in all three rows. Plus, if you want a rear-wheel-drive platform, the Durango remains one of your only options in this segment, and unlike the rear-drive Explorer, the Durango delivers truck-like towing capacity. You're also looking at the only mainstream three-row midsize SUV that offers V8 power — the Durango R/T is a hilariously fun family hauler if you're into that sort of thing, while the insane Durango SRT Hellcat effectively doubles the R/T V8's output (and price). Having said all that, you're taking a step back in time if you buy one of these. The platform is derived from the previous-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, which goes back nearly 15 years. We have a soft spot for the Durango, but a significant refresh would go a long way toward restoring its competitiveness."—Ranked #15 out of 15 Midsize 3-Row SUVs

1. 2025 Dodge Durango 3.6 Rear-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $38,495
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.6-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 295
- Torque: 260 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,875 lbs
- Length: 200.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,200 lbs
We still appreciate the Durango despite its advancing age. Even the base Durango GT impresses with its rear-drive layout, strong towing capacity and spacious cabin.
2. 2025 Dodge Durango 3.6 All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $40,495
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.6-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 295
- Torque: 260 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,986 lbs
- Length: 200.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 6,200 lbs
You might as well add all-wheel drive to your Durango GT. It hardly affects the fuel economy at all, and it'll give you extra peace of mind for a modest $2k fee.
3. 2025 Dodge Durango R/T (5.7 All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $50,390
- MPG Combined: 17
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 5.7-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 360
- Torque: 390 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.2 sec
- Weight: 5,313 lbs
- Length: 200.8 in
- Towing Capacity: 7,200 lbs
The Durango R/T may be a relic, but any three-row family hauler with a rip-roaring V8 engine is cool by us. There aren't many three-row family SUVs that can get your blood pumping like this thing. The biggest disappointment here is the value — if Dodge could have somehow offered the R/T at the same price as rival four-cylinder or V6 SUVs, that really would have been something to talk about. As things stand, you'll be well past $50k if you want to get into a 2025 Durango R/T, and that brings a lot of impressive machines into play.
4. 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat (6.2 S/C All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $101,290
- MPG Combined: 13
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.2-liter V8
- Aspiration: Supercharged
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 710
- Torque: 645 lb-ft
- 0-60: 3.6 sec
- Weight: 5,710 lbs
- Length: 201.0 in
- Towing Capacity: 8,700 lbs
The Durango Hellcat is a lot, starting with those 710 horses under the hood, obviously. Something to consider is that the Hellcat only seats six, thanks to middle-row captain's chairs, whereas the lesser R/T gives you up to seven seats while still providing a V8, albeit one that makes half the power. "Whatever," you might be muttering. "I want the fastest damn Durango there is!" And you've found it.
