Is the 2025 BMW XM a Good SUV?
"It took us a while to find a place for the oddball XM, a two-row plug-in-hybrid SUV with 31 miles of electric range, a twin-turbo V8 and up to 738 horsepower. But we think it belongs here, even though its technically full-size body is more than six inches longer than the X5 M, a stalwart of this segment, and only 2.4 inches shorter than the three-row X7. The problem with the XM is that it actually gets slightly worse fuel economy than the X5 M, so unless you plan to use those 31 miles of EV range religiously, there's nothing efficient about this hybrid. Then there are the matters of its wonky styling, its sky-high pricing and so on."—Ranked #4 out of 4 Midsize High-Performance SUVs
