Not surprisingly, adding all-wheel drive to BMW's excellent B58 turbocharged inline-6 hardly hurts fuel economy at all. It's a magical engine, as also evidenced by the fact that it can whisk this massive sedan to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.
The plug-in 7 Series' weight balloons to more than 5,600 pounds, but with 483 horses on tap, you won't be hurting for acceleration.
As nice as the standard inline-6 is in the 740i, the 760i's twin-turbo V8 is a whole new ballgame.
