The regular A8 doesn't have the kind of authoritative power delivery you'd expect of a flagship luxury sedan, which is where the S8 comes in. Does zero to 60 in the high 5s seem a bit pedestrian to you? How about the low 3s? Yes, the S8's twin-turbo V8 delivers insane acceleration, although we wish it didn't share the regular A8's mandatory long-wheelbase layout.
