Is the 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale Plug-In Hybrid a Good SUV?
"The Tonale PHEV is definitely a subcompact in terms of dimensions, but subcompact luxury plug-in-hybrid SUVs are an extremely rare breed, so we're throwing this Alfa in with the compacts in case you're open to something smaller. Snugness is a defining trait of the Tonale — if you like small cars, you'll feel right at home, but don't expect spaciousness. One clear point in the Tonale PHEV's favor is its 33 miles of all-electric range, enabling owners to avoid gas stations for long stretches if they stay local and charge up at home. The complicated powertrain's acceleration can feel uneven, though, and the ride quality tends to err on the firm side."—Ranked #4 out of 5 Compact Luxury PHEV SUVs
