What's New for 2025?
The big news for the 2025 MDX is that the annoying touchpad-operated infotainment system is gone, replaced by a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Up front, the fascia receives minor styling tweaks (including a new grille pattern), while buyers can choose from two new Bang & Olufsen audio systems, depending on trim level.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a Good SUV?
"The standard MDX with its 3.5-liter V6 fails to deliver luxury-grade performance or fuel economy — this is largely the same engine you get in various Honda products, from the Odyssey to the Pilot. Step up to the turbocharged Type S and you solve the performance problem, at least, but now you're at $75k to start, which is nearly $25k more than the MDX's entry-level price. In happier news, the central infotainment interface is now exclusively a touchscreen, having finally ditched the frustrating mousepad-like controller that plagued previous models. The MDX's surprisingly modest cargo capacity and tight third-row seat give us further pause, but there's no arguing with Acura's strong resale value compared to most rivals."—Ranked #5 out of 10 Midsize 3-Row Luxury SUVs

1. 2025 Acura MDX 3.5 Front-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $50,900
- MPG Combined: 22
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated

- Horsepower: 290
- Torque: 267 lb-ft

The entry-level MDX lacks all-wheel drive, and you'll see a lot about Acura's SH-AWD system in your research, but do you really need it? While we're asking questions, is it even possible for a three-row SUV to have "Super Handling"? This front-wheel drive MDX certainly isn't the sexy choice, but it might just be the most sensible one.
2. 2025 Acura MDX 3.5 All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $53,100
- MPG Combined: 21
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.5-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated

For many SUV shoppers in weather-prone regions, all-wheel drive is a requirement. That's where the MDX 3.5 SH-AWD comes in, pairing the base 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine with Acura's SH-AWD system, which can transfer power side-to-side as well as front-to-back to maximize traction on slippery roads.
3. 2025 Acura MDX Type S (3.0T All-Wheel Drive)
- Base Price: $74,950
- MPG Combined: 19
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.0-liter V6
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 355
- Torque: 354 lb-ft
- 0-60: 5.5 sec
- Weight: 4,741 lbs
- Length: 198.4 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
The MDX Type S is Acura's bid to play with the big boys of the luxury SUV world. We're talking Germany's finest, which means you have to bring serious power and performance credentials to the table. The Type S's claim to fame is undoubtedly its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which makes this version of the MDX significantly faster than the regular spec with its naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6. But does that justify a price increase of nearly $22k? Considering that the spread from 0-60 isn’t even a full second, we’d say it’s hard to make that argument.
