You could look at the Tacoma Hybrid as a Land Cruiser pickup truck that trounces the non-hybrid Tacoma on power, torque and fuel economy — or you could dismiss it as a significantly pricier Tacoma that doesn't move the needle on acceleration, towing or payload. Or maybe you're somewhere in between. In any case, it's still one of the coolest trucks on the road, even if it won't be everyone's cup of tea. ⛐ md

Although any 2025 Tacoma could go around kicking up dirt like this, the TRD Pro looks extra rad doing it. (Photo: Toyota)

The 2025 Toyota Tacoma Limited is where the standard luxury features ramp up. In addition to the full 14-inch touchscreen, you get a 10-speaker JBL stereo and a whole lot more. (Photo: Toyota)

The 2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro's coolness and capabilities are not in question. Its $63,900 base MSRP, on the other hand, will inevitably raise some eyebrows. (Photo: Toyota)

Available only with the hybrid powertrain, the 2025 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter is aimed at the overlanding crowd, boasting name-brand aftermarket equipment like Old Man Emu shocks and offering an optional long bed. (Photo: Toyota)

The 2025 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter is equipped with Old Man Emu 2.5-inch monotube shocks with rear remote reservoirs. Unlike the TRD Pro's Fox Shocks, they aren't adjustable, but they should allow for both capable rock-crawling and high-speed desert runs. (Photo: Toyota)

The Tacoma's i-Force Max hybrid powertrain isn't much to look at, but it packs a 326 hp/465 lb-ft wallop while also delivering up to 24 mpg combined. (Photo: Toyota)

2025 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid Interior Photos

The Tacoma Limited gets a 14-inch central touchscreen that's optional on some of the lesser trims, which utilize an 8-inch touchscreen by default. The bigger screen's interface is nicely done, but we'd rather not have a full-fledged computer monitor looming above the dashboard. (Photo: Toyota)

Standard from the PreRunner trim on up, the 2025 Tacoma's 12.3-inch digital instrument panel goes a long way toward making the interior feel contemporary, although we're guessing a lot of truck fans feel just fine about analog gauges. (Photo: Toyota)

Standard on the Limited and higher trims, the Tacoma's 10-speaker JBL audio system includes a removable Bluetooth center speaker. Just promise you won't take it hiking and annoy everyone else on the trail. (Photo: Toyota)

Lest you worry that the Tacoma's large 14-inch touchscreen meant the death of physical climate controls, you can see here that knobs and buttons live on. (Photo: Toyota)

Looking like something an astronaut might strap on before stepping into space, the Tacoma TRD Pro's exclusive IsoDynamic Performance front seats use what Toyota calls an "air-over-oil shock absorber system." The idea is that each seat can move vertically and laterally at the same time, which is said to minimize body movement and stabilize spine alignment. (Photo: Toyota)

We'd argue that the TRD Pro's interior is the best-looking in the Tacoma lineup, especially with those crazy IsoDynamic front seats wrapped in Cockpit Red SofTex upholstery. (Photo: Toyota)
