FAST FACTS
2025 Nissan Armada
Rank
- #6 in Full-Size SUVs
Pros
- Strong acceleration
- Looks cooler than its pricier Infiniti QX80 platform-mate
Cons
- Fuel economy won't improve dramatically with the new V6, based on the QX80's EPA ratings (Armada's are currently unavailable)
- Turbo lag makes us miss the previous Armada's V8
- Cramped third-row seat
What's New for 2025?
The Armada is fully redesigned this year. Under the hood, it switches from V8 power to a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, while the cabin takes a quantum leap forward with widescreen infotainment up front and more space in all three rows. Nissan holds the line on pricing, too; the new model starts at the same price as the old one.

Is the 2025 Nissan Armada a Good SUV?
"Largely identical to the Infiniti QX80, the Armada shares its fancy cousin's thorough overhaul for 2025, including the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, which is hooked to a nine-speed automatic rather than the previous generation's seven-speed unit. The blown V6 makes more power and torque than the V8 it replaces, and the 2025 Armada boasts more passenger space in all three rows, as well as more cargo space and a screen-tastic dashboard layout. Its third-row seat remains decidedly tight for taller folks, however, and the turbo V6 is laggier than the other turbo sixes here."—Ranked #6 out of 6 Full-Size SUVs

Adding 4WD doesn't tend to hurt beasts of this size a whole lot in terms of fuel economy. For example, the mechanically similar QX80 only drops a single mpg overall when 4WD is specified. We'd go ahead and grab it; if you're getting a truck-based SUV with serious ground clearance, you might as well make it a 4x4.
