What's New for 2025?
The Eclipse Cross carries over unchanged aside from some very minor equipment adjustments. Specifically, a rear-seat alert function is now standard to remind you if you left a kid or a pet behind, while the SE trim gets an updated Black Edition package with revised front-lip and rear spoilers.

Based on the egregiously outdated Outlander Sport, which has the same 105.1-inch wheelbase, the Eclipse Cross tries to update the formula with a turbocharged engine, but it's not a powerful one. The result is acceleration that's actually slower than that of the Outlander Sport 2.4 SEL. The fuel economy is about the same, too, so it's not obvious whether and how the Eclipse Cross moves the needle. Note that we're giving the fullest possible credit with the MPG numbers cited here — those are for the base ES, which comes with 16-inch wheels, whereas the larger wheels on higher trims knock the numbers down to 25 mpg combined (25 city/26 highway).
