What's New for 2025?
Minor updates for the 2025 Telluride include standard second-row side airbags and Highway Driving Assist 2 (adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping assist) across the board, while smartphone key functionality (Digital Key 2 Touch) is now standard from the SX trim on up, and the X-Pro AWD trim gets a 500-pound bump to 5,500 lbs of max towing capacity. Inside, the X-Line and X-Pro trims get a standard dual-screen integrated display; outside, they're treated to gloss-black accents. Note that the Telluride AWD is significantly more expensive this year, starting about $3k higher than last year.

Is the 2025 Kia Telluride a Good SUV?
"If you follow the automotive press at all, you might have reached your Telluride saturation point by now. Everywhere you turn, there's some expert saying that the Telluride is the best three-row SUV. Are they all right? Well, they're not wrong, let's put it that way. For years now, the Telluride has been performing the same magic trick of driving like a smaller vehicle while providing adult-sized space in the third row and looking great all the while. Fuel economy, however, is unimpressive, thanks to the Telluride's old-school V6 engine — your only option under the hood."—Ranked #2 out of 15 Midsize 3-Row SUVs
Which 2025 Kia Telluride Should I Buy?
MotorDonkey's proprietary vehicle data identifies every significant version of each model so that you can compare and decide. Ordered by price from low to high, here are the versions of the 2025 Kia Telluride that you need to be aware of, along with our expert analysis and recommendations.
1. 2025 Kia Telluride 3.8 Front-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $36,190
- MPG Combined: 22
- Drive Type: Front-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.8-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 291
- Torque: 262 lb-ft
- Weight: 4,134 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,000 lbs
The Telluride lineup keeps it super simple: Do you want all-wheel drive or not? We'd be inclined to get the front-drive configuration and save a little money both up front and on gas, but the Telluride's also a strong package with AWD.
2. 2025 Kia Telluride 3.8 All-Wheel Drive
- Base Price: $41,090
- MPG Combined: 20
- Drive Type: All-wheel drive
- Engine: 3.8-liter V6
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 8-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 291
- Torque: 262 lb-ft
- 0-60: 6.8 sec
- Weight: 4,301 lbs
- Length: 196.9 in
- Towing Capacity: 5,500 lbs
The AWD Telluride loses 2 mpg relative to the base front-drive version, but you're unlikely to notice a difference otherwise. Note that the 2025 Telluride AWD's towing capacity of 5,500 pounds applies only to the off-road-themed X-Pro model; all other Tellurides max out at 5,000 pounds, whether they have front- or all-wheel drive.
