A newly optional Black Edition package adds gloss black exterior trim and 20-inch wheels, plus red interior stitching and red accent lighting. The Pilot is otherwise unchanged, though that didn't stop Honda from raising the base price by more than $3k this year.

"The Pilot is one of the few midsize SUVs that still use a conventional V6 engine rather than a downsized four-cylinder, which explains why its fuel economy is a tick or two behind the segment's best. But the Pilot checks most of the boxes otherwise, with the added bonus of Honda's excellent resale value. We'd happily take a slight penalty at the pump to have the Pilot's strong acceleration, by the way.
