1. 2024 Ford Super Duty 6.8 (Gasoline V8)
- Base Price: $44,970
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.8-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 405
- Torque: 445 lb-ft
- Towing Capacity: 18,900 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 8,000 lbs
The F-350 uses the 6.8-liter gas V8 to achieve a significantly higher towing capacity than the F-250 6.8, and they cost about the same. Speaking of capacities, if you go with the 6.8-liter gas engine in the regular cab F-350 XL with dual rear wheels (DRW), you unlock the highest payload of all — an incredible 8,000 pounds.
2. 2024 Ford Super Duty 7.3 (Gasoline V8)
- Base Price: $51,105
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Four-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.8-liter V8
- Aspiration: Naturally aspirated
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 430
- Torque: 485 lb-ft
- Towing Capacity: 22,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 7,647 lbs
The Super Duty's optional 7.3-liter gasoline V8 cranks out more power and torque than the 6.8, predictably, but we're not convinced that it's worth the extra spend. The 6.8 is already a workhorse.
3. 2024 Ford Super Duty 6.7T (Diesel V8)
- Base Price: $55,465
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.7-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 475
- Torque: 1,050 lb-ft
- Towing Capacity: 36,500 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 6,950 lbs
Grab the regular cab F-350 RWD with the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 and you can tow up to 32,600 pounds with a fifth wheel.
4. 2024 Ford Super Duty 6.7T High Output (Diesel V8)
- Base Price: $57,965
- MPG Combined: N/A
- Drive Type: Rear-wheel drive
- Engine: 6.7-liter V8
- Aspiration: Turbocharged
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Horsepower: 500
- Torque: 1,200 lb-ft
- Towing Capacity: 38,000 lbs
- Payload Capacity: 6,297 lbs
The "high output" version of the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 only makes 25 extra horsepower, but torque goes up by a more meaningful 150 pound-feet, and you can tow 300 more pounds with the F-350 regular cab RWD. For a few grand on top of the regular 6.7, is it worth it? If you consider the bragging rights, too, then maybe so.
