Is the 2024 Fiat 500e a Good Car?
"Rated at just 149 miles of range with summer tires (the optional all-season tires reduce that figure to 141), the 500e feels like a bad match for American drivers. Acceleration, too, is decidedly unimpressive for an EV, so the little Fiat's main strengths turn out to be its excellent parkability and its cute styling. That may not be enough to sway shoppers at more than $30k to start."—Ranked #3 out of 3 Compact Electric Cars

We had projected that the 500e's range wouldn't be much more than 160 miles, and it turns out we were overly optimistic. The EPA officially rates the 500e at just 149 miles of range, and that's the best-case scenario with summer tires — the optional all-season tires reduce that figure to 141 miles (and drive the consumption rate up to 31 kWh/100 mi). While even 141 miles might be enough for most daily use cases, we expected more for the 500e's $30k-plus starting price. Acceleration, too, is decidedly unimpressive for an EV.
